Welcome!!

I started this blog as a place to put the "mommy stuff" that just doesn't fit over on my other blog.

I became a first time mom at the age of 43 so this blog is written from *gasp* an older mom's perspective.

I love being a mom to the funniest little girl on the planet (check out the scroll over to the right ---> for some of her gems!) and I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures together!

Favorites of the Week - Volume 1

Humility - the quality or condition of being Humble; imitate Jesus or Socrates

When I started this blog I had this little idea about making this a sort of companion to my Everyday Bliss blog but from a parenting focus. The other blog is definitely NOT a mommy blog in the traditional sense and I wanted a place to share all my mommy stuff! I figured when I started I would post once or twice a week and maybe play along with a meme or two but no I just keep getting ideas and here I am posting almost everyday. Since I'm not sure I really have the where with all to keep up this pace I am NOT promising that this new feature I am introducing today will be done with complete regularity... but disclaimer aside, I do hope you enjoy!

Introducing Favorites of the week!  This is my place to say thank you to some of the wonderful blog visitors and commenters as well as a place to share some of the best mommy advice I ran across during the week.

First here is my Favorite Mom Tip of the Week which I found on on the Care2 website. In their article called Top 12 Toxic Fruits and Vegetables they tell us how avoiding the 12 most toxic foods we can lower our pesticide consumption by 80%.  Making organic choices on just 12 foods makes a huge difference. I am not the best organic only buyer to be frank but you can bet after reading this there will be 12 organic items I do not miss.

The most pesticide filled foods are:
  1. Celery
  2. Peaches
  3. Strawberries
  4. Apples
  5. Domestic blueberries
  6. Nectarines
  7. Sweet bell peppers
  8. Spinach, kale and collard greens
  9. Cherries
  10. Potatoes
  11. Imported grapes
  12. Lettuce

Next up my Favorite New to Me Blog is HoboMama. This wonderfully refreshing Natural Parenting blog is a great place for good advice on all sorts of parenting issues. I found this blog while perusing some wordless Wednesday fun and fell in love immediately!

My Favorite Comment of the Week came from an old friend of mine! We met in the park when our girls were less then a year old and sadly she moved away, first to Chicago and now France!!! The comment came on my post  Empowerment "Ronious" Style where she said,

"I had to smile reading this one, it brought back such great memories of watching Sweets complete dare-devil routines and hone her athletic skills at the park.  You have done a fabulous job raising an independent, empowered, ronious little girl.  I love the new blog, I am just now catching up with everything, but I am really enjoying it.

Maura writes the MOST entertaining blog called Pardon my French
and I was just thrilled to know she took time out to follow my newest blogging outlet too!

How about you? Any new Favorites to share?
