Stuff "The Girl" Says

"You're not a person! You're a mommy." (age 2)

On his way out the door daddy said, "Goodbye everybody!" The girl replied, "Goodbye onebody!" (age 2)

"I love you mommy. You are the best mommy I never had!" Age 3

Regarding being sick,"Will I never get better?" and "Help! I need a hanky." and "My nose just keeps running and running ALL day."Age 3

"Pick the one you want! -- No NOT that one" Age 3

I was handed a stuffed kitty. "I thought you would like her because she is getting older like you!" Age 3

"This shark is my FAVORITE guy" I thought Minnie was your favorite? "Oh mommy, you can have LOTS of favorites!" Age 3

"I had a dream about a lady bug. I was outside and he landed on me. Then he waved at me with one of his itty bitty feet and said goodbye. Then he flew away to see his other friends. That lady bug knows everybody just like me!" Age 3

While on vacation, Sweet's introduction to all her new friends (and EVERYONE was a new friend!) at the pool, "Hi my name is "Sweets." I am three. I can run very fast." Demonstration of running follows. Age 3

"Did you visit Hawaii even before I was a person?" Yes we did. "You guys go to Hawaii a lot!" Age 3

"Why don't we live in Hawaii?" The final pronouncement on the trip. Age 3

"Daddy could you try to sleep like a girl?" (no snoring LOL) Age 3

"Can I have a dark light" What's a dark light? "It makes dark not light. I need one when the sun is too bright." Age 3

"I wanted to be good today" Age 3

"Maybe next time we can be birds mommy. They can fly high and I would like to touch the sky. Even baby birds fly a little. I can't fly yet at all." Age 3

On the way out the door. "Daddy I am leaving you my red scissors and my pink ones, if you need to cut something. Maybe you can cut something for me. Will you need the glitter glue?" Age 3

"I want a three head not a four-head." Age 3

"Hey mom, does this look tricky or dangerous?" Age 3

When asked by her Dad if she was going to use the potty today The Girl said, "No Dad, that's NOT how I roll." (age 3)

"I am happy but sometimes I cry." What makes you cry Sweets? "When you go to work Daddy. Then I sad." (age 3)

"What we doing here?" Mommy is getting a flu shot. "NO!!! I don't want them to shoot mommy!" (age 2)

Heard from the bathtub "Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the Fishy and Sweets show!" ... songs followed! (age 2)

Do you want to go outside Sweets? "Not now, we'll see how the day goes." (age 2)

"I am being a good girl today. I only spilled a little bit." (Spill should be defined as tossing liberally around the room however) (age 2)

Big Crash heard in other room followed by, "Don't worry mommy I Just sneaked into the playdoh." (Age 2)

"Mommy are you teaching me to be a big girl?" Yes Sweets. "Good. I want to drive the truck." (Dad's F150 I guess! - age 2)

Call from other room, "Mommy I needja." When I arrive in her room, "May you clean my room? It is pretty messy for me." I told her I would help if she did too. She told me, "maybe later!" (Age 2)

"Mom Mickey Mouse doesn't have any eyebrows." Is that a problem? "No it is just the way it goes!" (age 2)

"This is terrible! I can only get one of these (fancy tutus) on!" (Age 3)

After working on making a Hippo with bendaroos (wax covered strings, fun for building) to little success, Sweets said, "I am making "fossai", they are a new animal and I can do it." (age 2)

"That is not my point" What is your point Sweets? "To say what I want and to do it." (age 2)

"Mommy, you are my very veryest friend!" (age 2)

"Will I learn my superpowers at Bal-la-lay school? When I am bigger I need to fly up there! (pointing to the ceiling)" (age 2)

"Mommy teach me how to pirouette." I can't pirouette Sweets. "You can! You are a big person!" Not all big people can pirouette. You need to go to school to learn how. "I want to go to bal-la-lay school to learn how to pirouette. Let's go now! Can I wear a fancy dress?" (age 3)

"Mommy , in my dream you made me music and I danced. It was a piroette show!" (age 3)

"Bolivia is little. I'm little too. That's ok we're growing." (Age 3 - after watching Bolt)

"Lets play hockey mommy." You want to play hockey? How do you play that game Sweets? "Take this feather and blow really really hard, then push it down this hole." (Gosh too bad the NHL hasn't tried out these rules... could be very entertaining!) (age 2)

"Play this game momma! Put this on your eyes (lid to small watering can), look through here (hole in top). See me and you be so happy!" LOL a good game indeed... I certainly was SO HAPPY! (age 2)

As Sweetie and I were toasting to the New Year, Sweets interjected, "Happy New Years guys! I love you very so much!" (age 2)

The Girl's take on the mall Santa. "That guy isn't MY FRIEND Santa!" (age 2)

A Sweet's song of the day,"Old MacDonald had a mommy. A don't eat that here and a don't eat that there, a don't eat that everywhere!" (age 2)

The Girlon Hawaii -- "Our-awaii is nice mommy. Everyone gets an ocean!" (age 2)

"Mommy do you want some priva-seat?" This is contrasted to privacy and means toddler will accompany any time you enter the bathroom. "Yay we having priva-seat mommy!" Yep, plenty of priva-seat and no privacy in my house! (age 2)

OK Sweets pick three books tonight. "I want 4, no 5. I want 5 books." Sorry Sweets, 3 it is. "No mommy 100 books, I need 100 books." ... Go get 3 books Sweets. "I can't carry 100 books. How about 5?" (age 2)

"Help me build this? Come on mommy, you build great towders!" (Can't refuse an invitation like that! This kid's got enrollment down!) (age 2)

"Thank you mommy for letting me help you fold laundry." -- so how long can a mommy be this lucky? (age 2)

"Let's ask Giada (food Network) if we can go to her house amorrow." (age 2)

"Let's not have puper (computer) day. Lets have Thanksgiving day today!" (age 2)

"Happy Thanksgiving!" some time passes... "Is that like everybody birthday?" (age 2

Where are you going Sweets? "I take my monkey to the airport." Why is he going to the airport? "I take him back to his tree. He want to go home." (age 2)

"I can't carry my Daddy. He like really Giant. He can touch the trees." (age 2)

A squeal of delight! "Look mommy we have fairy dust at our house!" I find The Girl blowing dust off the shutters into the sunlight. (I definitely feel better about not dusting now!) (age 2)

"Play hide and seek with me momma. I hide behind the door. Find me. I know you can do it!" (age 2)

A very agry outcry comes from the bathroom where The Girl is "measuring." Three halfs is all over me! Three halfs is too much!" (age 2)

I asked The Girl what she wanted to do today since she did not want to go to the park. She replied, "Play Playdoh, have a tea party with you, and watch Tinkerbell." Guess she knows what she wants! (age 2)

"This is my job" The Girl says as she smears oatmeal on the table. I thought your job was to be cute and funny? "That was that day, this is this day." (age 2)

"I'm going to kid work, not boy work like Daddy" What is your work Sweets? "To be cute and funny." (age 2)

"Mommy I am growing up today!" (age 2)

"I sorry I sick mommy." :( Poor girl has a runny nose, told her she doesn't need to be "sorry" she said "It ok I lub you anyway." Cute girl doesn't want her mommy to worry! (age 2

After I stepped on The Girl's sunglasses. "You don't have to be sorry mommy. It was just a on accident." (age 2)

"Mommy are you laying down? It daylight, come on!" (age 2)

The manager stopped by our table and asked how our meal was... Sweetie and I replied, "good, fine." The Girl said, "Actually we wanted more butter!" LOL she was totally right! (age 2)

Meeting a new neighbor. "Hi! I "Sweets", I have two sweeties at my house." (LOL Hubby and I refer to each other as sweetie all the time!) (age 2

"I Love Hippo Food!" Sent by a friend, our new white hippo "Snow" came with her own supply of food (roasted pumpkin seeds, yum!) which The Girl liked almost as much as her new hippo! (age 2)

"I want to touch both ears mommy. Yup you have two ears!" (Phew! glad that is settled - age 2)

Asked The Girl what she wanted for breakfast. She said "Lychee fruit please" LOL she hasn't had that since we were in Hawaii almost a year ago... how the heck does she remember this stuff??? (age 2)

I asked The Girl what she wants for lunch. She replied, "I the mystery guest today. Can we have cake? (age 2)

Would you like to get dressed now? "No, thanks. I pretty busy right now." (age 2)

"Thank you for reading books together guys. I lub you!" (age 2)

"This is going to be good" heard as my Lady Bug left with dad to trick or treat! (age 2)

(Looking for thank you) The Girl was asked what are the magic words? She replied, "Hocus Pocus!" (age 2)

Donning her purple cape, "I super Sweets now!" (She did use her real name! age 2)

"This house is really full mommy. Amember that time it was empty?" (recalling the walk through after we bought it I guess!! -age 2)

"Mommy where Sagey live?" New Jersey. "I love New Jersey. It is one of my favorites" (age 2)

"Remember I am a princess mommy!" (age2)

OK Sweets pick 4 books to read tonight. "How about five?" No four. "OK you read 4, Daddy read 4 and I read 4 -- that how it works!" (age 2)

"I have a problem mommy. I only have one hippo and he needs friends for his wallow (blanket serving as wallow in living room) -- maybe we get some more hippos a morrow?" (age 2)

"I don't like ghosts. They scary. I like spiders. I no like spider webs." (age 2)

"I need to tell you this mommy. I love you so much!" (age 2)

"You want to do this with me?... SAY YES!! (age 2)

"Come on guys, follow me! It time for dancing!" (age 2)

"Do this mommy." Handing me a pinwheel. I blow it softly. It spins. "No, No Mommy. It need to go really fast. Let me help you." The Girl grabs pinwheel from my hand and races around in a circle. "I show you how it works!" (age 2)

"Amember, we don't eat playdoh Minnie." (age 2)

"We not a family. We eat ice cream, you guys too, then we a family." Ice cream was FINALLY served! "Yeah! We a family!" (age 2)

Sweets, where do you want to go to dinner? "The Fish Market. They may have some ice cream for me." (LOL she had some there 3 months ago and is ever hopeful! - age 2)

"Come out in the yard with me mommy." Why Sweets? "I make you so happy." Then she gave me 10 (she counted them for me) flower petals and said, "Happy Balentines Day!" (age 2)

"When Daddy get little the mote (remote) be mine." (age 2)

Would you like some food? "Not really, I'll let you know." (age 2) Mommy don't talk to me. I'm not feeling well."

"Please may I have more hands?" Did you say "hands" Sweets? "Yes, I only have two mommy." (age 2)

Please stop. (Throwing things in the house) "I am stopping. Not now, I stop later. You got it mommy? I stop later." (age 2)

"Mommy I love you so much!!" (age 2)

Can I get on your back like a piggy?" (The Girl's take on the Piggy Back ride age 2)

"I put milk in my playdoh. I think that was a bad idea mommy." (age 2)

"If I talk nicely to those people they share those toys with me amorrow. That how it work mommy?" (age 2)

"Is that a leaf or a petal mommy?" I have NO IDEA. (and I didn't realize that I would already be getting stumped by your questions at 2.5 years old!)

"What is that fancy cherry's name? Mommy HELP!!! I LOST THE NAME of that fancy cherry!" (She was looking for maraschino cherry) (age 2)

I clearly live in a diversity desert... While flipping through a magazine at the airport Jessie notices and points to the very young black athlete in an advertisement and says to the distinguished 60+ black man sitting next to her, "You in my magazine, right here!"

Sweets, why is there milk all over the table? "Dolly did it." Really? Dolly spilled that milk? "No, probably Sweets." (age 2)

"You ate all your broccoli -- Good job Mommy" (age 2)

Stop eating the sand please. "Mommy, I do it every day." (age 2)

Where did you get those eyes pretty girl? "At the grocery store." When pressed for more information she changed her answer to "Probably Daddy." (age 2)

What are you doing Sweets? "Elax (relax) mommy, I in my room!" (age 2

"I want to snuggle with you mommy!" -- does it get any better then that???? (age 2)

When we opened up her window The Girl said, "Oooh, the cold air feels delicious!" (age 2)

"We need to buy more money mommy" (age 2)

"That was some pretty high air!" The Girl said in response to being held above daddy's shoulders. (age 2

"I like baby Alexa's Nana. Can we buy me a Nana?" (age 2)

"Mommy, it's pretty toasty outside." (97 degrees -- no doubt about it!) (age 2)

The Girl was making some noise while napping so I took a peek... I think she was sleep talking/sitting -- She looked at me and said, "Mommy I think I'd like to try sleeping again." and then promptly fell back over and stayed asleep for more then two hours! (age 2)

"You are my BEST friend mommy. Except sometimes in the morning I don't like you." (Age 3)

"Mommy, could you PLEASE not call me baby any more." [:(( My baby, make that big girl is growing up.] (age 3)

Couldn't find cell phone all day. Finally a less then sheepish girl says "Sorry. I swiped it mom!" (age 3)

Upon finding a toy she hadn't seen in a while, "Look what I found mommy. This was my FAVORITE when I was a young girl!" (age 3)

After reading Green Eggs and Ham... "That little guy is Sam I am... who is that other guy? Sam I don't?" (age 3)

"The pacomites are celebrating!!" What are pacomites Sweets? "They are a kind of Zebra." (age 3)

"OK you are the little kid and I am the mommy. I am a Pirate mommy. You are a 'egular little kid, you wear wings NOT a pirate hat." (age 3

"Hurry! I need my noculars. It is wind-ing a lot outside" (age 3)

While in Disneyland, "I like it here mommy, it is very magic-ee." (age 3)

Sweetie came home with a VERY LARGE grill, The Girl took one look at it and said, "Is that for cooking bacon?" Guess she thinks we need a lot of bacon!!! LOL (age 3)

Mommy is wondering if she should be worried about her Girl serving "a cherry martini" to her stuffed animals. (age 3)

First request of the morning. "Mommy can I have a chocolate?" I'm sorry Sweets, not for breakfast. "But when you are little I let you have chocolate!" (age 3)

"abolina apolika ballareeto, abolina apolika ballareeto" What does that mean Sweets? "It means people should sing!" (age 3)

"I'm a super pasty white girl!" (LOL at least she is comfortable with the truth! - age 3)

On the way home from the Children's museum I told JThe Girl we were going to get on the highway and we would be home pretty quick. Later she responded. "This is the highway? It isn't high. What is a low-way?" (age 3)

"Don't be mad mom. It only a little scary. Not too dangerous." (age 3)

OK guys let's travel to my room now!" Sarcastically Dad says, "Wow that is far!" The Girl replies, "I know it is but you can do it! Let's go!" (age 3)

"Don't go to work daddy. I need you very so much to stay home." (age 3)

"Mom are you three?" I'm much more then three. "How about six? Six is a pretty big number!" (Gosh I just couldn't tell her how really giant my number is! - age 3)

What did you have to eat today. "I can't tell you." Why? "It is a secret and you don't tell secrets until later." When is later? "Maybe some weekend." (age 3)

"Excused from the table please" After you eat some of that broccoli you asked for. "You run a tight ship here mommy." (age 3)

"Mommy, here is some fairy dust. (applies invisible dust with cotton ball) Now you can fly with us. Come on. It be so fun!" (age 3)

"Mommy I want some milk." Could you try the P word? "Panda??" Do you think Panda will help you get some milk? "Maybe, panda's are nice!" (age 3)

5 more minutes in the shower Sweets. "11 minutes please. I need more time." (age 3)

"Mom are we done cleaning? Can we dance now?" (age 3)

I want a doggie who only barks if something is wrong, like Nash (a friend's fabulous dog) but I want a kitty who Meows a lot. Can we get that?" (age 3)

"Good Morning mommy. What did you dream about? I dreamed about bumblebees. You were the mommy bee and I was your baby." (age 3)

"Why do we always count to three? I want to count to eleven!" And so she did and then did her "super high tricky jump." (age 3)

"I am going to ride on leaves and do other tricks when I am a fairy mommy." (age 3)

"Mommy, please pick up for me and put these in the garbage for me. You will be so happy for it." (age 3)

"I have an idea. Maybe Humpty can come to our house. We have tape and glue and I can fix things just like Tinkerbell!" (age 3)

Overheard at the park: "Lillian!! Lillian!! ... Earth to Lillian!" And after The Girl finally chases her friend down. "You really wear me out Lillian!" (age 3)

On the way home from Ellie's Party. "Mommy there was no cake. You said there would be cake." Sweets you had two cupcakes! "Cupcakes aren't cake, I wanted cake!" (age 2)

The Girl at Ellie's Birthday Party. "What are we waiting for? Where is the cake?" (Age 2)

After hearing a loud crash and some papers rustling about, The Girl emerges with a long unfolded paper. What is that? asks Dad. "It no big deal Dad. It just a pretzel map." Indeed it was a fold out menu from Annie's pretzels, found at the bottom of mom's bag, the contents of which were strewn across the hotel room! (Age 2)

The Girl on autographing her art work, "I draw my name with lines. When I bigger I will use letters and maybe numbers." (age 2)

"Mommy you do it. I'm too grouchy to get them." (Them being her slippers which were thrown down the hall - lol) (age 2)

After pounding the keys and drawing on my computer with a crayon, Jessie says, "I'm sorry I didn't do it the way you wanted. I promise I will play nicely, for a little while." (age 2)

"Mommy I like that cat. He just purred me!" (age 2)

Sweets we are going to play a new game. It is called wash the floors. Her response, "I'd like to try that. It sounds really fun. Let's do it!!!" (age 3)

A friend gave Jessie a stuffed dog yesterday. Upon meeting him she said, " His name is Wolfy mommy. He told me." (age 2)
